In this country, we look highly upon individuals that are self-sufficient and independent… not needing anyone. We put them on a pedestal as being powerful and in control of their lives. This, however, contradicts what we observe in the universe and is NOT consistent with the message of Jesus. In this month’s Life, God, and the Universe blog, we discuss The Importance of Community.
Most Christians believe that once you die, your destination in the “afterlife”, heaven or hell, has already been determined and cannot be changed. Where is God? If God exists, is He standing next to us in every moment of our lives… or is He standing on the sidelines observing… sometimes coming forward to intervene on our behalf?… or is He standing on the sidelines, never interfering, but merely observing the consequences of our choices?… or is He not around at all? In this month’s Life, God, and the Universe post entitled You Can’t Change the Past… or CAN You?, we explore answers to this basic question and deeper truths about the universe.
The Life, God, and the Universe web site has been around since 2013. This month’s blog entitled The Story of “Life, God, and the Universe” describes the inspiration behind the creation of the web site. This is a story that reflects my personal journey as a Christian.
Our universe was created from nothing… an event scientists refer to as the big bang. Before the big bang, there was no matter, no energy, no forces… even the dimensions of space and time didn’t exist. How about math? Did math exist prior to the big bang? Sounds like a rather strange question. In this month’s Life, God, and the Universe blog, entitled Did Math Exist Before the Big Bang?, we explore answers to this question.
